Criminal Justice students gain a comprehensive understanding of the criminal justice system, including law enforcement, courts, and corrections. This course provides an overview of the criminal justice system. It explores the history, structure, and function of the criminal justice system, including law enforcement, courts, and corrections.
This course explores the causes and consequences of crime and delinquency. Students will explore the major theoretical perspectives in criminology, such as social learning theory, strain theory, and control theory, and examine how these perspectives explain the occurrence of crime.
This course provides an examination of the principles and practices of crime forensics, including the collection, preservation, and analysis of physical evidence in criminal investigations. The course will cover the various types of evidence commonly collected in criminal investigations and methods of collection.
This course provides an in-depth examination of the juvenile justice system in the United States, including the historical evolution of the system, the legal framework, and contemporary issues and challenges. Students will gain a comprehensive understanding of the unique aspects of juvenile justice and the specialized approaches necessary to effectively serve juvenile offenders.
Program Duration and Delivery
Students who enroll in four courses per semester can complete the program in as little as three years depending on how many credits they transfer. The program will be offered fully online and an 8-week online academic calendar.
